Create Your Own Block Print with Pangolin Ink Artist Jim Fikkert

Whether you're a seasoned artist or someone looking to try a new creative medium, join Jim Fikkert of PangolinINK for an introduction to the art of block printing at LIDO Collective.

Jim will guide participants through the four-step block printing process: (1) designing the image, (2) transferring the image, (3) carving the image, and (4) printing the image. All supplies will be provided, and you'll leave with your own carved block, printed artwork, and the knowledge to create custom designs on your own in the future.

Jim first discovered block printing in a high school art class and later revisited the medium while studying architecture, drawn to the bold contrast and emphasis on form that printmaking offers. After nearly a decade away from carving, he returned to it as a creative outlet, eventually building PangolinINK from years of accumulated artwork and a passion for the craft.

Today, he lives in the Northwest Washington with his lovely wife Esther, six kids, two dogs, two cats, bunny, and 10 chickens.
