Vicki Curtis

Vicki Curtis is an engineer by education — a self-described “nerdy engineer” — and that background informs her approach to metal smithing. “Understanding metal fabrication, how heat changes it, and how a hammer can move it has been invaluable,” she says. Always being creative, she began exploring metal smithing through classes several years ago and quickly expanded her skills through books, videos, and trial and error.

Her jewelry is minimalist and understated, designed to complement the wearer rather than overwhelm. Texture and depth add subtle complexity and uniqueness to each piece. Through her work, she has learned patience: quality craftsmanship takes time, and pieces should be treasured for years to come.

She lives on Camano Island, Washington, with her husband — her critic — and her cat, Walter, who serves as her assistant.
