Sue Ryan
Sue Ryan is an artist based on Camano Island, Washington, inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and its vibrant sunsets. She is a member of the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild and the Skagit Artists, participating in multiple shows each year, and her work can also be seen in local businesses around Camano Island and Stanwood.
Sue has been involved in artistic endeavors for most of her life, exploring a wide range of mediums including oil and acrylic paint, etched art, jewelry making, glass painting, fabric painting, cross stitch, and crochet. She has also created coloring books for the National Wildlife Service, painted book covers and wine bottle labels. Oil paint is her favorite medium for the vibrant colors and textures it allows, and color is a central element in all of her work.
Her paintings often feature places she dreams of visiting and animals, capturing their character and expressions. Sue continues to draw inspiration from the world’s beauty in her daily practice.
