Becca Link
Becca Link (she/her) is a potter based in her home studio in Conway, Washington. She primarily fires her pieces at cone 6 in oxidation, but occasionally participates in cone 10 soda firings. Her style is best described as eclectic, since she just makes whatever strikes her fancy. Sometimes, she uses flowy glazes that run all over the place, and other times, she uses tape as resist to create sharp lines for precise works. She lets the form dictate the glaze.
Pottery has been a lifelong love of hers. She took her first pottery classes at summer camp when she was 8 or 9, and has been participating in various community studios ever since. In 2021, she bought a wheel and kiln and set up a home studio. She mostly makes wares on the wheel, but recently started making earrings and has been enjoying the new skills and challenges they require.
Sadly, her full time job is working in healthcare, which can be extremely stressful. Pottery, her dogs (Birdy and Pickle Butt), and skiing are her primary stress relievers, so she works hard not to put constraints on pottery. She is constantly experimenting with new forms, new clays, and new glazes. She takes extra pride in smoothing and polishing the bottom of her pieces. She makes sure they are all buttery soft and will never scratch the surfaces they touch.
