Jackie Beck

Jackie Beck started creating pine needle baskets and wall art in June 2017, and by 2018, she began teaching basket making to others. She has been learning new stitches and creating some of her own ever since she began coiling, and has now created over 200 pieces, which are oftentimes functional and other times for decorative art.
Jackie sources her longleaf pine needles from South Carolina and Florida and her agate bases and walnut slices mainly from Quartzsite, AZ. Other items used in her bases come from just about anywhere. To create her bases, she typically starts with resin and then drills holes to attach the pine needles. She uses 1 mm waxed polyester thread from Brazil to stitch the pine needles to the base and stitch the coils together.
Jackie lives part time with her husband in the Pacific Northwest and half the year in
CA – where her four children, 13 grandchildren, and two great granddaughters live. She creates to relax and bring herself and others joy any chance she gets!
