Gary Brown
Gary Brown is a Skagit Valley-based photographer whose work reflects a deep, decades-long connection to the land between Mount Vernon and La Conner. Gary has spent over 45 years observing the light, mist, movement, and life that define this richly agricultural region. His images capture quiet, fleeting moments—sunrises over the fields, fog rolling across farmland, and the daily rhythms of wildlife, farmers, and machines at work.
Guided by serendipity and patient observation, Gary often keeps a camera in his car, ready to document beauty as it reveals itself in the everyday. His photography is a reflection of appreciation—for the light, the land, and the people who shape it.
Through his lens, Gary invites us to pause and reflect on the remarkable gift of this place. He proudly supports local conservation efforts through Skagit Land Trust and Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland—organizations dedicated to protecting the valley he so lovingly photographs.
