Charlene Hall

Charlene’s watercolor and gouache paintings are a tribute to the captivating beauty of the Skagit Valley, where mystical, fleeting light dances across fields, seascapes, and forests. Drawing on her background in theatrical set design, she brings a unique sense of drama and depth to each piece, capturing the valley’s ever-changing moods and textures.
Whether painting en plein air or in the studio, Charlene’s work reflects the tranquil allure and vibrant essence of the landscapes that inspire her. Her brushwork invites viewers to pause and experience the Valley’s light, color, and quiet magic.
Before settling in Skagit, Charlene spent two years painting en plein air with a group in Bermuda—another landscape that deeply influenced her appreciation for light and atmosphere. She holds a degree from Southern Oregon State College and pursued graduate studies in Set Design at Brandeis University.
Charlene is a member of the Salish Sea Plein Air Painters, Northwest Watercolor Society, Plein Air Washington Artists, and the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists.
